About the founder

PEF Loans is directed by Alain Liger. Alain Liger has had an impressive career spanning over 30 years. After completing a Master of Business at NEOMA Rouen’s Business School, Alain’s career started in France, working in banking and real estate for 15 years before moving to New Zealand:

UFB Locabail: dealing with the financing of machinery, equipment and other investment loans
UFF: Personal Finance Adviser and Team Leader
Bouygues Immobilier: Land Purchaser and Development Project Manager
Spie Loisirs: Management of the development of large touristic resorts
Trent Jones/Malbe: Director and Development Manager of a major golf resort in the south of France.
Alain moved to New Zealand in 1993 and is very passionate about the All Blacks. He was involved in the purchase of the Wigram airbase by Ngai Tahu as a contractor, and later did the economic feasibility of Pegasus City North of Christchurch for Southern Capital. Alain founded Easyhome, a new concept of 100% finance, and created Property Equity Finance (PEF) in 2000 with an investor, Ronald Ball to develop the concept nationwide. Overall, between 2001 and 2009, PEF issued $42 million of second mortgages, (1300 clients & $350 million of properties).
Alain is now a certified Director of the NZ Institute of Directors and business adviser at BUSINESSNAV.
